About the Author
Ven. Dr. Chung Ohun Lee is the Founding Head Minister and guiding Spiritual Teacher of Won Buddhism of Manhattan (WBM). She establishεd WBM in 1993 in order to teach Buddha Dharma to the English-speaking population . Ven. Lee shares her expertise in the Dharma, Buddhist meditation, the basic teachings of Buddhism as well as Won Buddhist philosophy and practice with the Sangha.
Chung Ohun Lee is a recognized international leader in interreligious dialogue and cooperation. She has represented Won Buddhism at the United Nations (UN) since 1992. She has held several important UN committee positions:

Ven. Lee is a long-time advocate of inter-religious understanding and cooperation and is the Co-President of Religions for Peace, the largest international interfaith organization, a position she has held since 1999.
Ven. Lee is the author of Vision for a New Civilization: Spiritual and Ethical Values in the New Millennium (2000) and Dharma Record: New Mind and New Body (1994).
Ven. Lee began practicing Won Buddhism in 1971 and received full ordination in Won Buddhism in 1981, in South Korea. After her ordination Ven. Lee taught Buddha Dharma in Flushing, New York for twelve years. She holds Ph.D. in Religious Education from New York University .
Her focus is Won Buddhist spirituality, the practical application of Buddha Dharma in the contemporary world, the role of religion in our time and engaging Won Buddhist perspectives in global issues.
